Life Lately: Happy Birthday To Me!!
Turning 40 was a milestone that came with its own set of revelations, much like opening a new chapter in a book you’ve been reading for years. The insights and experiences that hit me reshaped my worldview in ways i never anticipated. And as I continue to navigate through the complexities of this age, there’s a noticeable shift in priorities, awareness, and even in how i view myself and the world.
Life lately has been a gentle unravelling — not in a chaotic way, but in a revealing one. I’ve been pulling back from noise, from urgency, from anything that makes me feel like I have to rush to be relevant. And you know what’s on the other side of that? Clarity.
In this season, I’ve been choosing silence. Not because I don’t have anything to say — but because I want to hear myself first.
Living with Lupus has reshaped not just my body, but my perspective on Life. My Life Lately reflections are all about slowing down, finding balance, and realigning with my higher self while embracing this journey with grace.
Lupus has its challenges — flare-ups, fatigue, days when my body demands rest — but it has also taught me resilience and the art of mindful living. This post is my way of hitting pause, reflecting on what’s shifted, and resetting my path forward with purpose.
If you’re new here, you can read more about my Lupus-friendly winter style tips and how I’m creating a softer approach to fashion and lifestyle while honouring my body’s needs.

What Slowing Down Really Looks Like for Me
I once believed that I had to earn my rest—that only by exhausting myself and completing endless tasks could I truly take a break. But my perspective has changed! Now, I see rest as essential, not just a reward.
Slowing down for me now means:
- Leaving messages unread until I’m ready to respond thoughtfully,
- Saying no with confidence and without guilt,
- Journaling for my own reflection, not for sharing,
- Savouring a warm cup of tea with no distractions.
It may not look glamorous, but it’s incredibly genuine. This intentional pause is what empowers me to show up fully and authentically in all areas of my Life.
Life lately has been about looking back at how far I’ve come — not in terms of big wins, but in the quiet victories. On days when Lupus makes even the simplest tasks difficult, showing up is enough. Reflection reminds me to stop chasing perfection and celebrate progress instead.

Reset: Prioritising What Truly Matters
Resetting isn’t about reinventing myself. It’s about clearing away the noise and asking: What do I actually need right now?
Here’s what I’ve been working on lately:
- Getting my home in order (physically + energetically)
- Cleaning up my digital spaces — unfollowing, unsubscribing, uncluttering
- Releasing friendships that were built on old versions of me
- Prioritising my health, not just my hustle
- Experiencing as
This isn’t a “boss up” era. It’s a balance up.
Sometimes that’s physical rest, other times it’s journaling, working on my blog, or indulging in mindful rituals like creating a vision board to set intentions for the season ahead.

Realignment: Connecting with My Higher Self
Lupus has forced me to tune into my inner voice more than ever before. Realignment means choosing energy over obligation, joy over burnout, and creativity over comparison. It’s trusting that my higher self already knows what I need — I just have to listen.

Creating a Wellness Sanctuary at Home
Part of my Life Lately reset has been designing a space that nurtures me. From decluttering surfaces to curating soft textures, every detail matters. Home is where healing begins, and I’ve learned that intentional design can transform not just a space, but also your mindset.

Style That Works With Me, Not Against Me
My approach to fashion has shifted from chasing trends to embracing comfort and timeless staples that honour my health while still feeling chic. From Lupus-friendly layers to statement pieces that spark joy, I’m curating a wardrobe that aligns with my lifestyle. This inspires you to find a style that works with you, not against you.

Self-Care Beyond the Surface
Self-care isn’t just skincare or bubble baths — it’s saying no without guilt, asking for help, and honouring my limits. Living with Lupus has redefined self-care into something more profound: protecting my energy.

Gratitude as a Daily Reset
Ending my day with gratitude has become non-negotiable. Even if it’s as simple as being thankful for a warm drink, a supportive friend, or a quiet afternoon, gratitude resets my mind and helps me see beyond the challenging moments Lupus brings.
