First, let me say that looking expensive is not the most essential thing in the world. However, I’m sure many of you want to know how to look expensive on a budget. These tips are all budget-friendly, so you can look expensive without breaking the bank.
Check out my ten versatile tips on:
How to Look Expensive on A Budget.
These tips can be applied to various styles and outfits, allowing you to express your unique fashion sense while still looking high-end.
Add Structure

I suggest a nice, tailored coat or blazer to add structure to your outfit. This is also a great option because you can find great selections at thrift shops, making it a budget-friendly choice.
The first option is a blazer and adding Structure, specifically shoulder pads, anything with shorter padding, or a structure at the top. Make sure to look a little more refined and have a very flattering silhouette for your figure because it makes your waist look smaller while your shoulders look broader. If you have wide shoulders already, there may be a better tip for you, but this blazer demonstrates the look beautifully. It is oversized. Still, it’s a great option even if I’m wearing sweatpants and, you know, a T-shirt. I want to run out and grab, I don’t know, run some errands or anything. I’ll throw this coat on like a nice bag, and I feel more put together like this, which transformed this outfit. It’s a long line, just a wool coat, but the Structure elevates it. It makes my outfit look more expensive, even if not expensive, giving you more bang for your buck(Expensive on A Budget).
Focus on the fit
As women, we put a lot of weight on the size of the clothes label. We want to stick to the size we think we are.
Here’s the thing: clothes sizes vary from store to store, so don’t let that keep you from truly enjoying something when you need to size up or down.
If I find some trousers, for example, that are tight on my hips, but I love them, I will size up and alter the waist so they fit me properly. A proper fit makes so much more of an impact than the difference between squeezing into a beautiful dress or just sizing up and fitting so it falls nicely, which makes a huge difference, and the latter can kill the look.
I am sure you’ve seen it where something looks so tight and uncomfortable on someone that you can’t even appreciate the silhouette, design detail, or any of that because it is unflattering and looks awkward.
People with a lot of money often get clothes custom-made, and that’s why they always look good.
However, getting something from Zara or misguided sizing up and altering it is relatively easy.
Does it fit right? Get it to fit whatever the most significant part of you is.
I’m sure it costs much less than you(Expensive on A Budget).
My dry cleaner alters many of my clothes, and they have charged me about £10- £15 to alter a skirt or trouser leg.
Focus on the Manicure

okay, the next tip on how to look expensive is manicured hands a tip I often don’t follow (Bad Lee-Anne) you don’t have to spend lots of money having super long or blinged out. They must be neat and clean and have a subtle or clear polish.
No chipped polish or broken nails, please!
Timeless Jewellery

Timeless jewellery can instantly transform your look, depending on your style and preference. Some people like rings, some love stacks of bracelets, and others love necklaces. I’m a necklace person, and while I love how stacked bracelets look, I don’t often wear a ton of bracelets because it just annoys me. I’m not too fond of many things rattling, but when I want to elevate an outfit, I will layer on the jewellery.
I also like the look of mixed metals. I don’t do it all the time, but it can look effective(Expensive on A Budget) when you can layer it to elevate your look. Simple, delicate pieces also look high-end and give a timeless classic feel.
Try All White

An all-white or all-cream look now, of course, you need to make sure that this is figure-flattering and you find what suits your body type best, but if you don’t know what to wear and you want to make an impact and you want to feel almost regal. I don’t wear them often, but if I’m still determining what to pull, I’m not sure what would be perfect for an occasion. I combine those two so you can have a suit, but it could be a dress, a skirt, or a top. Still, I pair those two together. They didn’t come together, but I paired them together. When in doubt and if you want to look very expensive(Expensive on A Budget) and kind of elevate your look or just feel very chic and sophisticated, I suggest an all-white or all-cream if you’re not comfortable with white, even like some type of nude just head-to-toe even like try to give them a matching bag and a matching coat it just reads more elevated.
Find Balance

Having balance in your outfit, this is a very old-school tip that I feel that it still applies if you are wearing something tight on the the bottom where something looser or tight on the top where something looser on the bottom and vice versa if you’re wearing something tight on the bottom where something looser on the top, so usually if I’m wearing an oversized white button-up shirt I will wear skinny jeans or fitted trousers to create a more flattering silhouette and also to me just looks more stylish it looks more fashion-forward and then same thing vice versa(Expensive on A Budget) if I am wearing something where I have like wide leg trousers or oversized pants or even a bagger pant I will wear something tighter on top just to create a more flattering silhouette so again easy tip but I would just keep it in mind whenever you’re getting dressed if you have tight and tight depending on what it is it can look fantastic of course where were you’re comfortable with and what you like but I would consider kind of always keeping that tip in mind so that’s tip number five keep Balance in your outfit okay tip number six is to
Invest In A steamer

Ah, this is so easy
Steam Your Items, but they are usually missed. Take pride in your clothing, no matter the price point. Invest in a steamer. I have a small handheld one I can travel with.
Steam all your clothes, as wrinkled clothes can destroy an outfit at any price point(Expensive on A Budget). Honestly, even if you have an expensive outfit and it’s wrinkled, it’s a disaster, so make sure, especially when you are trying out those other fabrics like those statins and silk, so if you want to make sure they are steamed to perfection so that they can flow and just look as elegant as you want them to make so sure anything you’re wearing knock those wrinkles out take pride in your items no matter how much they cost tip number.
Find A Good Shoe Cobbler

Find a shoe cobbler and assess your shoes. I would take a big bunch at a time; go through your shoes and assess any ones with scuffs showing through anything, which means the heel tap. Replace anything that, like any, has any wear or tear. Take them to your local shoe cobbler. I have one that is based at my local shopping centre. It’s just one man who owns it. He works there daily, and I can take in any items. I have, and he can bring them back to life, but that is a telltale sign, significantly if you’ve invested in shoes at any price point.
If they look worn, that will not elevate your outfit, so take them to your local shoe cobbler, go on Yelp, search shoe cobbler, and find someone you can trust. Look at the reviews, and I would maybe test one pair of shoes first, but again, if you have any scuffs or marks that can be treated, take those in, especially(Expensive on A Budget) if you have heel taps that are worn down take those in or even if it’s like hardware or something on the shoe that maybe needs to be polished up go to your local shoe cobbler elevate those shoes tip number eight is all about styling.
Confidence And Comfort

To me, they go hand in hand, and this is just something that you feel, so when I’m getting dressed, anytime I am uncomfortable in what I’m wearing, I can’t be confident, and that is what kind of makes an outfit to me when you go somewhere when you show up, and you are just feeling it. You are feeling a hundred per cent if you are feeling like this is the perfect outfit I really pull it together any time I’m uncomfortable if I have to fidget with something if I have to keep tucking something in if I have to keep doing anything like I can’t be confident and I’m just uncomfortable, and I hate like that I will change my outfit immediately So that that may be different for everyone, but for me, if something is too tight again, if it’s tight on the top and tight on the bottom, I can’t handle it, but even if it’s something where I just have to fit if there’s a lot of pieces to an outfit or too many moving parts I just have to take it off and like pair like scale all the way back and go with something straightforward so that’s just a tip again that’s more up to what’s comfortable to you but I would if you’re ever indecisive about an outfit or not sure like what the problem is when you’re getting dressed think about like is this comfortable wherever I’m going do I just feel like I can move around I can like be myself I can be comfortable or am I going to be pulling my dress down all night or tucking my top in because it’s a little too short to be tucked in like that type of stuff will just kill your confidence so make sure you are comfortable and what you’re wearing my last and final tip is:
Shop Pre-loved

Pre-loved, so I’m assuming if you’re watching this video, you like designer things, you like luxury items, you like things that are a little more expensive, but right now, you want to find little tips and tricks to elevate what you currently have, which means at some point you will wish to you’ll want to invest in designer items. Go to the pre-loved market for anything before stepping into a store to purchase the total price you want. This is something that I recommend before purchasing Fashionphile, The Real Real, and The Vault Luxury Resale Vestiaire Collective. Whatever it is, if it’s shoes, a bag, or even a hat, I suggest taking your time and doing your research online to get an idea of what other resellers are charging so if you think that next year you want to invest in a Chanel handbag or Gucci loafers do your research even if you type it into Google like pre-loved Gucci loafers all of the sites will come up that have them listed they usually will come up and show you the price. That’s just a tip that I wish I knew.
