‘Rye Lane Under The Stars with Luna Cinema!’ Usually, the idea of spending a night exposed to the elements in London would not be at the top of my list; however, with the recent balmy weather we had when I was given the opportunity to see Rye Lane in Duluch Park, thanks to the lovely people at SKY and Luna Cinema I had to say yes. Indeed, there has never been a better time to try an outdoor cinema, and thankfully Luna Cinema was there to provide.
We pitched up at Dulwich Park to watch Rye Lane, a 2023 British romantic comedy-drama film directed by Raine Allen-Miller in her feature directorial debut from a screenplay by Nathan Bryon and Tom Melia.
While I didn’t think much of it when I accepted the invitation, a few days before, I found myself inspired and excited. It could be because I was going with Iblushbeauty since she matches my level of OTT, and we always have a great time everywhere we go.

My lunch break found me in Primark and Poundland, picking up cute blankets and picnic accessories to enhance our outdoor cinema experience. Of course, I was overjoyed when I saw these cute pineapple cups.
I also ordered back rests directly from Luna Cinema which we collected from the bar when we arrived.
Even though the film wasn’t due to start at 9.30 pm, we arrived at 7.30 pm to ensure we got an excellent spot to enjoy the movie and tuck into our goodies. It also allowed us to catch up before snuggling on our Luna Cinema backrests and snacking popcorn.
It got slightly nippy just before the movie started, so we ordered two teas and got under our blankets.
The movie Rye Lane was a sweet and quirky love story. I enjoyed pointing out all the familiar landmarks in Peckham; however, considering my current setting, I would have preferred a more exciting action movie or even a musical.
The atmosphere in the Luna Cinema was great. Everyone was super friendly and hame to have a good time. Though one is undoubtedly tempted to people watch, or more specifically try and guess what number of people were on dates, once the sun sets and the movie starts, like a child, you’re enthralled in the magic of the big screen.
