M&S London Fashion Week

After a century of dressing Britain, Marks & Spencer’s debut at London Fashion Week marked a major milestone: a full catwalk show at London’s Design Museum that captured attention and showcased its evolving style.

This wasn’t just another off-site Fashion Week event while the main shows happened elsewhere. M&S London Fashion Week 2026 was a real runway moment, with supermodels, a great front row, and 59 womenswear and menswear looks celebrating 100 years of M&S fashion.

The best part? We didn’t have to wait six months after the runway to buy the pieces.

The collection was ready to shop right away, with half the pieces priced unoffering, showing practical options that align with current trends and boost your confidence with stylish yet affordable choices.

100 Years Of Fashion Gets An LFW Makeover With

The show’s theme was 100 Years of Fashion, but this wasn’t just M&S digging into the archives and sending old favourites down the runway.

The past inspired the collection, but it didn’t set the rules.

M&S brought back classic styles like tailoring, tuxedos, crisp white shirts, twinsets, knitwear, outerwear, and vintage florals, updating them for 2026 through Collection, Autograph, and Per Una.

Think leather with personality, relaxed tailoring, lace, fringe, embellishments, slouchy denim, and coats that can make jeans and a T-shirt look stylish.

From First Look To The LFW Runway

If you’ve been following What’s Her Name Again?, you’ll know this isn’t my first look at the collection. Before M&S made its official London Fashion Week debut, I had already been digging into its new-season offering, looking at the pieces that caught my eye and what they suggested about the direction the brand was taking for AW26.

Think of it as the pre-show conversation: seeing individual pieces online is one thing, but watching them styled into complete looks and sent down an official LFW runway gives you a much better sense of the bigger fashion story M&S is trying to tell.

And what a difference a runway makes. The details on a product page gain significance when seen in motion—fringes swing, embellishments catch the light, and oversized tailoring defines shapes. The London Fashion Week show turned M&S’s autumn collection into a confident statement about its place in British fashion. If you’re making your LFW debut after a century, you better choose a venue that truly understands the assignment, and that’s exactly what the Design Museum in Kensington delivered! This contemporary gem set the stage for an unforgettable show, offering a chic, clean backdrop that let the stunning collection shine. With a polished, modern vibe, M&S stayed true to its roots.

The buzz was electric as around 360 guests from fashion, media, and entertainment filled the front row, giving the M&S London Fashion Week 2026 show the glamorous energy you’d expect from such a prestigious event. Iconic figures like Dame Joan Collins, along with stars like Jessie Ware and David Gandy, brought extra star power, underscoring M&S’s rich heritage and bolstering confidence in its fashion credibility. And guess what? M&S didn’t save all the glitz just for the audience!

Supermodels On The M&S London Fashion Week 2026 Runway? Absolutely

What M&S London Fashion Week 2026 Brought To The Runway

The M&S London Fashion Week 2026 show successfully retained the brand’s identity while elevating it with more directional styling. Familiar wardrobe staples were refreshed with stronger silhouettes and richer textures, combining confidence and attitude. Tailoring featured a relaxed, oversized fit, making jackets versatile for both casual and dressy outfits.

Leather added character, especially with a worn-in look, perfectly aligning with the return of lived-in leather for AW26 without feeling trend-driven. Texture was key, with suede and fringe providing movement, while beading introduced a touch of glamour.

Outerwear was a highlight, showcasing longline shapes and strong proportions that gave presence to even the simpler looks. Paired with knee-high boots and statement bags, they transformed into stylish autumn pieces.

I appreciated how the collection made mixing and matching easy. It encouraged women to incorporate these fashion-forward pieces into their existing wardrobes rather than forcing a complete style change. M&S offered a way to dress fashionably while remaining true to oneself, which resonates with me.

My M&S London Fashion Week Favourites

Now for the important bit: what would I actually buy? Because as much as I enjoy the theatre of London Fashion Week, eventually I want to know which pieces can leave the runway and earn their place in my wardrobe.

The Leather Ruched Stiletto Heel Knee High Boots (£140) immediately caught my eye. Cut in black leather with ruching around the ankle and a 75mm stiletto heel, they have that sleek, grown-woman sexiness that doesn’t need to shout for attention. The shape is strong enough to sharpen up a midi dress, but I can just as easily see them disappearing under straight-leg denim with an oversized blazer. They’re the kind of boots that make an outfit feel pulled together before you’ve even started trying too hard.

Then there’s the Funnel Neck PU Trim Longline Coat (£100), which speaks my autumn language. The long navy silhouette, high funnel neck, and contrasting PU details give it a clean, almost architectural feel, while the length adds drama without making it impractical. This is exactly the sort of coat I’d throw over a simple knit and trousers, add sunglasses and let the outerwear take all the credit. Sometimes the coat is the outfit, and I’m perfectly fine with that.

For something with a little more movement, the Embellished Hi Low Fringe Midi Asymmetric Skirt (£50) brings the party without looking like it’s tried too hard. The combination of embellishment, fringe, and an asymmetric hem gives it texture and movement, making it one of those pieces that doesn’t need much competition. I’d keep everything else deliberately simple with a crisp white shirt or fine knit, a blazer and heels. Let the skirt have its moment.

The Embellished Scoop Neck Shift Midi Dress (£130) takes a similar approach but does all the styling work in one hit. The black sleeveless silhouette gives the embellishment a sophisticated base, so it feels glamorous without tipping into overly fussy occasionwear. Add a beautifully cut coat, heels and a good pair of earrings, and you’re basically out the door. No wrestling with fifteen accessories required.

My real weakness, though, might be the Per Una Pure Leather Aged Relaxed Jacket (£250). The aged leather finish gives it character from the start, creating that softened, slightly worn-in look you usually find after rummaging through a very good vintage shop. Paired with the relaxed silhouette, it feels less like a polished biker jacket and more like effortlessly thrown-on leather, which is exactly how I want to wear it. Over a dress, with denim, layered over knitwear, this is the sort of piece that could get better the more you wear it.

And then we have the Per Una Suede Fringe Detail Shoulder Bag (£100). Khaki suede already gives it that rich, tactile autumn feel, but it’s the statement fringe that brings the personality. It taps into the return of boho and suede without requiring me to revisit every questionable outfit I wore the first time around. I’d use it to loosen up tailoring or add some texture to denim and a simple knit. A little boho, yes. Full festival flashback, absolutely not.

Those are the pieces that stood out to me from the M&S London Fashion Week 2026 offering because they don’t only work within the styling of an LFW runway. I can see how they would slot into an existing wardrobe, which is always the test for me. Fashion can give us the fantasy, but if I’m spending my own money, I want something that’ll earn its keep.

Prices and availability were correct at the time of writing, but as always, check M&S for the latest details before getting too emotionally attached. We all know how quickly a good high-street find can disappear.

M&S Didn’t Just Attend LFW. It Showed At LFW

And that distinction matters. M&S London Fashion Week 2026 wasn’t another glossy brand event conveniently scheduled while the fashion crowd was in town, and M&S didn’t lose sight of the women who actually shop there while chasing its Fashion Week moment. There was plenty of runway polish, but underneath the styling were recognisable pieces that could make sense in a real wardrobe: beautifully cut coats, relaxed tailoring, worn-in leather, knitwear, denim, statement boots and a little fringe and embellishment when you’re in the mood to turn things up.

It was exciting to see M&S shine at LFW after a century of excellence! Instead of only reflecting on its rich history, the brand confidently embraces its vision for the future of British fashion. What an inspiring moment for the industry!
