Ginger Bath Benefits: 7 Warming Ways To Relax

While making Nature’s Gatorade, I decided it would also be the perfect opportunity to try making a Ginger Bath recipe I saw on the Comfort Life Youtube Channel.
It was said to help you relax while taking a bath but also help you detox as it encourages the body to release toxins and causes you to sweat… a lot. Ginger is famous for its anti-inflammatory properties making it excellent for several ailments such as headaches, muscle tension, the flu, digestive problems and blood circulation.

Ingredients

Fresh ginger root, of course, there is an option
of using ginger powder, but the ginger root is a lot more potent because of all the oils it contains.

Epsom Salts or Magnesium flakes also have tons of health benefits which you can find out about here https://wotshernameagain.uk/health-beauty-benefits-of-epsom-salts/

Directions

Shred half a cup of ginger. You could use a food
processor to make the process easier.

Mix together the shredded Ginger and Epsom salts.
Run a bath to your desired temperature
Add ingredients and relax
in the tub for 15 or 20 minutes.

After you enjoy your bath, make sure to clean the tub well and be careful not to clog the tub bathroom doesn’t get
It is also essential to remember that this recipe will make you sweat profusely even an hour after the bath, which is a good thing, but make sure you stay hydrated and don’t plan to go out; you must stay home for at least an hour afterwards.

If you have allergy-prone skin or very
sensitive skin, it is recommended you to
do a little patch test of ginger on your
skin before taking this bath.

If you want to increase how much you sweat to aid the release of toxins, you can wrap it up in warm clothing, giving a similar therapeutic effect to being in a sauna.

What I actually did

Ginger Bath

As I was already NATURE’S GATORADE https://wotshernameagain.uk/?p=786 which also included ginger that I had already chopped up and was boiling once it cooled down, I took some of the liquid and mixed it with Epsom salts and a teaspoon of Bentonite Clay

and a dash of Apple Cider Vinegar

which unfortunately didn’t give it the most appealing colour, but oh well, I also added some Vitamin C Oil, mixed it up and added it to my waiting bath.

Before I got in the tub, I gave myself a quick body brush before giving myself a scrub with a Ginger Body Scrub, which also made found out more HERE https://wotshernameagain.uk/ginger-body-scrub/

My thoughts

After a weekend of feeling poorly after having chemotherapy and getting caught in the rain having the ginger bath definatly helped to relax me and helped soothe my inflamed muscles and limbs.
Once out of the bath, I wrapped myself in a towelling robe and drank plenty of water before moisturising my skin, slipping on my pyjamas and getting into bed, where I had a restful sleep.

I will definatly add Ginger baths or my version to my regular self-love routine, and if you would like to give it a try, you can purchase the ingredients here.
