Saturday brought us the season’s Fashion Scout’s Ones To Watch Fashion Week catwalk show, which featured an eclectic mix of promising young designers participating in their long-standing ‘Ones To Watch’ catwalk show.

Fashion Scout Ones To Watch esteemed catwalk show featured Julia Henrickson, Mushie Studio, Pindiga Ranjith Kumar, Tara Kari, and BERTH, all selected from a highly competitive shortlist of 50 emerging designers.

Fashion Scout Ones To Watch: Juliaah

Every piece, from concept to completion, showcases the creativity and craftsmanship of the Mushie Studio's talented artisans.

Placing a strong emphasis on quality, with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to selecting high-quality fabrics

that promote consumer health and enhance product longevity.

In 2024,

the Mushie Studio's design philosophy has evolved to embrace bold,

unconventional styles that celebrate confidence, independence, and

femininity. Through continuous innovation, Mushie Studio redefines how

the modern woman's body is honoured, offering minimalist designs that

are daringly unique.

PENDING

Indian-born, London-based designer Pindiga Ranjith Kumar is committed to

redefining luxury fashion with a focus on sustainability and

craftsmanship. Since graduating from the prestigious Royal College of Art,

London, where he completed his MA in Fashion in 2021, Ranjith Kumar is

dedicated to creating new systems that promote slow, responsibly

produced fashion.

His design philosophy is rooted firmly in ever-evolving aesthetics and blends community, thoughtful design, and timeless elegance. Drawing from cultural history and its intricacies, Ranjith Kumar's collections combine traditional references with experimental silhouettes and innovative cuts, all the while maintaining a sense of familiarity in the garments.

Each piece reflects a deep appreciation for human ingenuity and the preservation of sustainable craftsmanship.

Tara Kari

Womenswear designer from Finland Tara Kari's journey developing her

eponymous brand, "Tara Kari," before relocating to London in 2019. Specializing in haute couture and ready-to-wear,

Tara Kari merges innovation, progressiveness, and uniqueness in

Contemporary designs cater to both nature's and people's needs.

focusing on intricate textile manipulations and fabric innovations,

Tara Kari merges complex print designs and delicate embroidery,

pushing the boundaries of creativity.

Each piece in the collection reflects cutting-edge techniques, adding a layer of artistry and craftsmanship that sets the

brand apart. Tara Kari's timeless designs exude powerful femininity,

offering sensual, edgy creations perfect for the modern woman.

BERTH

Launched in Spring/Summer 2014 by UK-based designer Afa Tsang, BERTH offers womenswear, menswear, kidswear, bags, and accessories. Afa Tsang studied fashion design in Hong Kong and graduated in 2008,

Afa's design philosophy centres on the idea that "your brand DNA is

what sets you apart." This DNA blends modern vintage

style, bold colour blocking, 1920s art deco, and La Garçonne for BERTH. Known for

using geometric shapes and colour contrasts, Afa creates sculpted yet

timeless pieces. Signature designs include flat-chested, loose-fit

dresses with drop waists, crafted from fabrics and colours that evoke a

nostalgic mood or feature bold vintage prints. BERTH reinvents classic

fashion with a modern twist, reflecting Afa's unique take on fashion's

evolution.

CHEDDAR JEWELLERY

Renowned for its fusion of traditional Japanese craftsmanship

and modern design, CHEDAR JEWELLERY collaborated with fashion brands Mushie Studio

and BERTH to bring a unique jewellery collection to the runway. This

collaboration debuted at London Fashion Week, where Chedar's intricate

pieces were showcased alongside the collections of both fashion houses.

Cheddar draws inspiration from the Japanese art of kintsugi, the

philosophy of repairing broken pieces to create something even more

beautiful. This philosophy, symbolized by the brand's signature use of

aquamarine, is woven into each design, transforming its jewellery into

talismans of protection and beauty.

The synergy between Chedar's timeless, multicultural aesthetic and the

bold, innovative designs of Mushie Studio and BERTH created a standout

moment on the catwalk. The brands celebrated a blend of

modern and traditional elements, aligning with London's discerning

fashion audience while appealing to a global market. With this successful

collaboration, Cheddar aims to expand its reach beyond London, using the

Julia Henrickson’s fashion journey began while studying at Esmod Oslo, coupled with a desire to escalate Norway’s fashion scene. Juliaah directly responds to his void, aiming to merge boldness, functionality, and artistry seeksing to empower women, gracefully enhancing the female silhouette while blurring the lines between art and wearable fashion.
