Beyond meals, it could serve as a workspace or an elegant serving station for entertaining. One thing I wasn’t prepared for was the doorstop delivery policy. Many companies (including kitchen suppliers) will only deliver your units and appliances to your front door, not inside your home.
This means if you live in a flat, or if you’re renovating solo, you could be stuck hauling heavy, bulky items upstairs—or begging friends, neighbours, or delivery staff for a helping hand. It’s not something many people think about in advance, but trust me, it can cause a lot of stress.
Pro Tip: Always ask about delivery terms before placing your order. And if they only offer doorstop delivery, make arrangements in advance for extra help.
